Hayle Sprint Distance Triathlon
SW Series Event
The Hayle Sprint Distance Triathlon is based at Hayle in Cornwall. It is an ideal introduction to triathlons as each of the disciplines are relatively short. Although this is classed as an Open Water event, the swim section is located within the sheltered Copperhouse Pool. This tidal pool is "locked in" at high tide especially for the event and is therefore non tidal, allowing the competitors to experience a mass swim start within a very safe environment. Race Distances:
Swim: A 750 metre open
water swim set in the Copperhouse (salt water) Pool. This is a mass water start, but non tidal and without surf. Safety boat cover is provided as standard.
Bike: The bike is an
22.5km course which is suited to novice riders as there is only one main hill
to contend with.Tri specific bikes would be suitable with frequent use of the aerobars.
Run:
The run is a relatively short 5km course, with one small hill to a drinks
station and then back to the finish which is next to the transition area. This event is a perfect introduction to triathlons for the novice athlete and is the last in the Series.
